My channel held more than ten years of videos from another chapter. One question decided which ones stayed, and what unlisting does to your watch hours.
My channel held more than ten years of videos from a different chapter of my work. They did their job, and plenty of them still got found in search, but they didn't match what I'm building now.
So I asked every single video the same question.
Does this belong to what I'm building next?

Unlisted, not deleted
I'm not brave enough to delete ten years of work, so I unlisted them. Unlisting takes a video off your channel page and out of search, and anyone with the link can still watch it.
Know the trade before you do it: unlisted videos stop counting toward your YPP watch hours. If you're still working toward the Partner Program, that can set your total back.
Ask it of your videos
Go through your last ten uploads and ask each one whether it belongs to what you're building next. You don't have to unlist anything. The ones that do belong show you what to make more of.
